Traditional Costume of Corfu

The traditional costume of Corfu is an important part of the island’s cultural identity, reflecting its history, social life, and the artistic influences that have shaped Corfu over the centuries.

The collection of the “Nikos Paktitis” Folklore Museum of Sinarades preserves authentic traditional garments and costume accessories that showcase the craftsmanship of weaving, embroidery, and traditional tailoring. The fabrics, colours, and decorative details of each costume reflect the wearer’s social status, age, marital status, as well as the special occasions for which it was worn.
